Some people get really excited about midnight launches; they dress up, they buy cookies, they do all sorts of things to celebrate. Me? I'm a little crazy, so for the midnight launch at my local EB Games, I made a (totally edible and hopefully delicious) cake in the shape of Master Chief's head. The cake itself is sour cream pound cake, with (blue) vanilla buttercream frosting on the inside, and the whole thing is covered with a layer of vanilla fondant. This was my first time making a cake that wasn't your typical sheet cake, but all in all, I think to turned out pretty good!
